I was a teenage boy when this came out and very unsophisticated, I was just putty in the hands of Susanna Hoffs, promising to "teach me everything that a boy should know". Yes I had a crush. I was defenseless and I didn't care.
Michael Angelo Batio is a musician, clinician and guitar teacher. For a long time he was considered the faster shredder on the planet. While there are shredders that can play faster now, I don't know of any that play as clean as Batio does. He is also known for his sweep picking technique. Here he is paying tribute to the immortal Randy Rhoads !!!
Before Eruption by Eddie Van Halen. Before Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley by Randy Rhoads. Before Far Beyond The Sun by Yngwie, there was the ULI JON ROTH era Scorpions. Uli was in the Scorpions from 74 to 78 and is the single biggest reason for the shred and neoclassical movement that followed in the early to mid 80's. He is probably most known for the amazing song The Sails Of Charon. The opening riff and solo in this song are held in the highest regard by all guitar virtuoso's.
This song makes me think of seeing Fast Times At Ridgemont High just before I went into the tenth grade.
Just watched "Sound City" for the second time. Dave Grohl ist just a great guy and an incredible drummer. And this song has a hypnotic quality to it
