A funny thing happened on my way to listening to the soundtrack from "American Graffiti." Right next to it was "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. Oldies are going to have to wait until next week.

Damn, I haven't heard Ministry in years. I loved them back in the 90s.

I really enjoy One Man Bands. German one mand band, playing banjo, bass pedals, kazoo, and vocals, "Dad Horse", has been preaching his gospel through song played in good old fashion americana.style.

    Nice!

Exactly! I am even using an arch top Gretsch with dual filtertron!

What I've done so far...was just playing.

Gretsch>>>>Tom's Line Black Teeth>>>>Teton 15w acoustic Chorus amp

I set the guitar switch to the bridge pickup, pickup volume max, tone knob halfway; use the master volume to control it. The amp is set clean--right down the middle, with the master gain up for the low pedal volume in the chain andwith the exception of 3 for the high gain, chorus effect on but minimal. Pedal is set to 3 volume, turbo switch selected (extra overdrive), filter distortion effect at about 6 of 9. Makes the normally bright clean Gretsch sound like a beehive about to go to war with a tank regiment. If I turn up the filter any more is just fuzzes out with no guitar tone underneath. With the pedal toggle set on solo and the filter turned up, and the amp chorus off, it sounds kinda like Canned Heat, if you know what I mean. Still playing around, it's my first effect pedal other than a clean boost for the Gretsch.

With the J-Bass, this pedal is fun, because with the filter turned down, it provides about 20db of gain, and I can use the tube circuits and overdrive on my Fender amp to full effect without knocking the plaster off my walls. And, believe it or not, slight distortion on top of the overdriven Fender sound is kinda cool!

Wore this tape out my junior year of HS...back in the day, this was one of the rowdiest, yet fun, $5 hardcore shows the earth had ever known. Album is "Steady Diet of Nothing", by D.C. Hardcore legends, Fugazi. One of their best.

Juxtaposed covers (my term) are the best and some of my faves! I am all over the map with genres in my rotation, from ambient trip hop to Metallica, rockabilly and C&W to modern R&B.

Take away the stacks and all the crunchy distortion, and Metallica is essentially classical music. Ever heard S&M? It's Metallica with the SF Philharmonic, and it's a beautiful record.

S&M is incredible. I like the term "juxtaposed covers". My listening tastes are all over the map as well. And constantly fluctuating. I tend to go through phases. I need to go and listen to some S&M now. I love me some symphonic metal.
