    This brought on a discussion, in our house, about this song and who recorded it originally. Found at least two people who did it in 1949. Burl Ives "and" a fellow named Vaughn Monroe. Who knew? Thanks for the memory and the motivation to do a small bit of research!

    An excerpt from my "Google" search.

    "Ghost Riders in the Sky" was written by Stan Jones in 1948, based on his experience when he rode his horse out on the plains one day as a storm blew up with clouds resembling riders in the sky.
