I've been listening to a recording of Boak's bash which was held at my work a few years ago. Dick Boak, the artist service man at Martin Guitar for over 30 years, was retiring and asked a number of people to come celebrate his retirement. They all flew in played for almost 4 hours without getting paid. He then donated all of the proceeds to the theatre. It was a pretty special evening. Featured performers include Steve Miller, John Mayer, Jorma Kaukonen, Laurence Juber, Ernie Sites. Trevor Gordon Hall, Craig Thatcher, Nick Forrester, and Dick Boak.

Interesting, only a couple of hits on the album, but every song is very good and most are rather obscure. I've been listening to it for a week now and it never seems to get old. I've been on a quest lately to find great albums - no greatest hits or compilations.
