Done with Gene Wolfe for a bit now. I loved the novel. It's the first of five, but they've been out of print since the 80s, so I'll have to wait while Amazon finds the rest of them for me.

Now one to Redshirts by John Scalzi

    Great Expectations - Charles Dickens

It's a wonderful story, I haven't read it since high school, and then I didn't read it seriously but the story tone stayed in my mind :)

After seeing Redshirts mentioned here, I ripped through it on a couple plane rides. It was OK and had it's moments, but seemed a little gimmicky to me. I also just finished Lee Child's first Reacher book, Killing Floor, and liked it. I'm starting Child's Tripline now. I haven't seen the Tom Cruise movie yet, but it seems strange that he'd be cast to play a character that's 6'5 and 250 pounds in the books.

Well, I set Embassytown down somewhere and now I can't find it. Tonight I'll start Joyland by Stephen King.

Joyland was okay at first. Pretty good by the middle, and almost great in the end. I got really attached to the characters. Up next is more Steve King - The Colorado Kid.

Has someone of you read "Brave new World"?

Sounds very interesting... A little like" 1984" from George Orwell.

Currently reading Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, I have always intended to read it but never got around to it. I recently picked it up for my Kindle, so far it's not that great...

I liked Slaghterhouse Five, but that was in comparison to some of the other required reading we had in high school. Unfortunately I'm apparently a literary moron, I can never see the symbolism and meaning I'm supposed to detect. The worst was Shakespeare, it would have been OK if we watched the plays but reading them wasn't very enjoyable. I just like a good story.
