What are you waiting on to arrive...?

thank you Mike.my tech hybrid case was pretty ragged so i plan to use this case for that.

 

I've wanted one of these for years, and this one is on the way to me.
I know the case is sterling, but does anyone know if the handle and head are plated or sterling?
Anyone know if it's a New, New Standard, or New Deluxe head?

I only saw one of those, it was a New Improved.

Not that i needed it, but this case bundles with a brit old type and a brit new w/ wrong handle.

Sooo this is the gold version….. from the site… under new improved section…now the plated vs sterling question i do not know.. but the second question is definitly answered …

Sheesh...Then there's razor emporium's video:
He's got 2 tiffany sets aside by side, with a third set being the solid gold canteen set that is not tiffany, but has the new improved head.
Both Tiffany sets have old type heads, and Matt says that's what they should be.

 

Matt is pretty good with U.S sets.mr razor more the /brit European setts.

 

I give both those guys all the credit in the world... but there's always Gillette's oddities. Set that I just won looks like a new improved head. Being what these went for in their day, I'd doubt there are any/many Frankentiffany's lol.
I have a feeling Gillette had nothing to do with the case and handle, and delivered silver plated heads, to order, to Tiffany & Co. Then, they got what they got, Gillette branding silver plated.
So who knows, know one knows?

Very cool Jim! I would love to find that new improved tube Sterling set one day. It looks very similar to my Sterling Type A.

Thanks Jorge. It would probably look really nice all shined up, but I like the patina it has developed over the years.

Nice. You gotta love it when they fly under the radar.

 

I check AliExpress every so often to see what's new from Yaqi and Dscosmetics. I saw a $7 brush that I couldn't pass up. They claim the Handle is defective in some way but I don't think they would sell it if it was unusable. I guess I'll find out in a month or so when it gets here. It's the same handle as their Dandelion brush except that one has a cashmere knot.
