Yeah, so it is.....You wouldn't Credit that...."There's Not Much That Goes Past Your All Seeing Eyes Sir"..... He reckons that the blade is the same width as a modern SE blade, but a bit shorter....I suspected that was the case by looking at it....A Gem Blade should be easy enough to shorten and re- spine again and still got the Injector blade option.... Might do both.... Billy
My Russin bear has dry feet! It arrived in New York from the Ukraine today. Hopefully I'll be seeing it soon.
American Comfort Lather Catcher.... And another.... And Lastly.... I just won this a few minute's ago on Flea - Bay UK.....I saw this last week starting at a £9.50 starting Bid and I couldn't get my bid to register.....It was relisted and there was two other bidders on it tonight.....I stuck on a maximum of £20.00 and walked away....I got it for £16.00 & £1.99 postage.....Cant be bad at that as these Comfort Lather Catchers can cost you a "Few Dollars More" in the USA.....She looks in very good condition as well....I am not sure of the manufacturing date on this one but it must be over 100 yrs. Old......I am getting my friend to make me up some stainless handles for these old Lather Catchers as I don't care for some of the original handles ......I have heard it said that these American Comfort Lather Catchers offer the shave of your life with the original wedge blade.....This Model will take a Modern GEM SE Blade with some Shimming ..... Good Karma..... Billy
In addition to the Chubby, I'm now also waiting on one of those new Stirling synthetics that all the cool kids are taking about, Stirling Lemon Chill balm, a few Stirling bath soaps, and Catie's Bubbles' Royal Garden shave soap.
I'm waiting for a pound of African Black Soap. I really want to try it out and am intrigued as to how it would perform. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058NANJC/?tag=thshde-20
Came across a straight that looked quite decent for price of $35 so pulled the trigger on it. Also traded two soaps for bottle of Small Batch Shave Tonic that I initially purchased 12/13 for self Christmas present but gave to granddaughter so she could place under the tree from her to me but instead of under the tree she placed in stocking above the fireplace but the added weight of the 7.5oz bottle caused it to came crashing down. Since then it has been hard to find as constantly OOS on their website and able to pull off the trade.
Picked this up for $20.50. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that this didn't go higher. Thank goodness for NBJ! Stay strong guys. I pif'd my last Slim, but I've always kind of missed it. It will be good to have one in the stable again.
For the first time in a long while I have nothing inbound. Maybe NBJ '15 had at least some positive influence on me.
Schick Type F Injector.... I was sitting tonight and something told me to check on the Injector New List on USA Flea-Bay.....I had checked about half an hour before this and a Schick Type F Injector is always at the front of my mind.....These don't come up very often and when they have done recently the sellers have all stated that they are only posting to the USA & No Bones About It.....This Beauty sprang up at me as a "Buy it Now Job"......I quickly checked it out and pressed the button....I got it for £46.00 & £3.00 postage from a USA Seller......I am over the Moon......The Alloy & Brass Schick Type F Injector was only made for a few months in 1940/1941 .The Schick Type F is said to be a wonderful shaver and as aggressive as a Type E, but very, very smooth....Some people say that that this was the smoothest Schick Injector ever made... The Schick Type F Injector is regarded by many as one of the most coveted and pricey jewels of the injector world..... Billy
Great score - you see maybe 5-6 of them a year. I really like mine but have yet to actually use it... I'm gonna have a theme-week and pair it with this one:
That's a beautiful example of an F Type you have there......I have never seen or heard of a Wilkinson's Injector....Need to give me the Low down on that Dark Horse...Looks seriously different .....
Thanks The Wilkinson is a T70. I just love the sporty look of it. Here are some snaps: The back of the box has a built-in space for the blade pack: But I know you like some metal in your razor, so maybe this model would be better (not mine):
Yeah, Nice one...I have just looked them up....They must be quite rare as there is not a lot of them around......
