Waiting on these two shaving mugs. Really only wanted the one on the left - the Pairpoint Manufacturing one - but I guess the other one could be considered 'free' as I got both for $20. A little bit about Pairpoint here: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25849 The seller claimed that they are from the 1800's so I guess I got a bit of detective work to do... Bottom of them:
I have a small Whipped Dog order on the way. If I'd have known he was in Arlington, I'd have fetched it. My Plisson knot fell out of its handle, it going into a butterscotch handle. Also have a white mountain badger knot for my newly polished 400. I'm really not excited about the Semogue I'm forced to use.
Thanks to a head's up by @ObiDon I was able to win my very own Old Spice Hull pottery mug. According to the listing title, it's the first version.
Yeah. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for an OSHPM (old Spice Hull pottery mug) club thread, though.
Very nice! And that is the real deal. It is the original Hull Mug 01 and it was sold from 1938 until 1944. It was the only Hull Pottery Mug with The Grand Turk on it. All of the others have the "Ship Friendship". Cool!
True, and going forward I probably will order the larger plastic bottle and decant it into the glass. I put Clubman into a glass bottle for the same reason. You'd be surprised how much it affects the scent.
I did a mass purchase buying all of their products in the cool glass bottles except the one you just bought. I somehow missed that one during checkout. I would definately buy the Emulsion, Antesol and Aqua Balsamica in larger sizes
Picked up a cased, NIB Gillette Sensor Gold Edition. Estate of retired Gillette employee being sold off and there are another five or so cased NIB special models that you just never see for sale (titanium, silver, etc) I picked one...and went with this one.
Erm, yeah. By first version, I was referring to the imprint on the base of the mug, though after double checking, all of the " Ship Grand Turk" Hull pottery versions would have that particular imprint. Here's an interesting history of the ship itself. http://www.awiatsea.com/Privateers/G/Grand Turk Massachusetts Ship [Simmons Pratt].html Any aftershaves I buy that don't come in glass get decanted immediately into glass for just that reason.
Another Vintage Frameback Razor; coffin case scales…mid-19th century. Needs a little clean up and polish.
Framebacks or straight razors in general? FBs - about a half dozen. This particular one was unique enough to grab, price was right and the condition, good. Total - I've lost count...
I really like the looks of the framebacks. If I ever get into straights, I will want one of those. Is there a benefit to the frame?
