Didn't know if I could quote the price. Wasn't sure if the Forum Police might haul me off and beat me silly. Or at least silly-er.
Unfortunately it's an expense item but if it would be capitalized you could always have a linear depreciation over its expected life. But don't forget to treat it as an asset even after its fully depreciated if it's still in use (sure, sure the asset cost will be offset with its accumulated depreciation resulting in a zero book value but GAAP is GAAP)
My two bottles of Myrsol aftershave F/extra are now sitting in NYC customs!! This package has more frequent flyer miles than the average traveler. Left Spain----arrived in Germany---left Germany-----arrived in Switzerland-----left Switzerland------arrived NYC. Totally travel days to date. 9. Now the wait begins...
Threw out a lowball wannabe player offer on this..and ended up getting it. It looks as if it would clean up rather nicely. Now I just need to figure out when it's from. Looking forward to getting it in a week or so.
You realize there's only about 5 guys here who have any idea what you just said? Hey, maybe I can have my wife, who's self-employed, purchase it, give it to me and then write it off as a business gift? Sounds like a plan to me!
The first set of those with the wooden handle saw the light of day on 1908 as a travellers set....There was a further set that came out on 1911/12....The same razor though....The original version came out in 1906 and had one of those super long old type Kampfe stropping handles.....We can safely say yours is either a 1908 or a 1911/1912 model.....I have a later one that that...The later ones weren't as well made as the one you have there...The metal was getting lighter and the blade stops were getting dodgy on the later ones because of wear and tear on the factory machinery.....That's a good Un Sir....You will need to shim that to get the blade to sit fully forward in the blade guides....Quite aggressive shavers actually.... Billy...
I am waiting on my Shaving Cream from Norway... Fitjar Fjelheim Should be very fine stuff as far as what i read. Curious...
She is doing some limited runs right now - sold in their original containers before 'the big switch' happens later this year'. The details of that switch are yet to be revealed.
I'm waiting on an early Gillette Blade tin that has the graphics of the green blade packets from the early 1900's. I've only seen a couple of these in the last 3 years I've been collecting razors and shave gear. I will try to copy the sellers photo and post it with Tapatalk so you can see what I'm talking about. I'll try to post in a couple minutes.
Here is a screenshot of the sellers photo of the blade tin I posted about previously- The seller wanted an additional $7.50 to ship it in a box as I requested. He said this after the auction ended and I had paid. The shipping fee that I paid at auctions end was $5.00. He and I exchanged heated messages about this, and he finally relented. I won the auction for $15 plus $5.00 shipping. I hope he doesn't let the items get damaged from poor packing.
Did you hear the interview with Peter Wolf on Wetshaving News podcast? He seems like a genuinely nice guy. Interesting story as well. Here's a link to that episode - it starts about 6 mins in and goes for a good 30 mins
Was the winning bidder on this Geo F Trumper brush at $22. I'm fairly sure this isn't a very high-end brush offering of theirs but at the price I think it could be a nice addition for me. Comes with box and travel tube and offered as NIB.
