I don't have any full-sized butterscotch handled brushes so when this came up I put in a bid of $24 and ended up getting it. The knot seems good enough to still use but will see when it gets here. The writing on it isn't completely legible but I can make out; One one side: Mayfair, Best Badger, Sterilized. On the other: Made in England - and then two rows of text I can't quite make out - followed by a <C> sign. I'm guessing it's a Vulfix brush re-branded to some retailer's store but if anyone can positively identify it I'd love to learn. Some pics:
Can't help you much, but the diamond with the 'C' is a government compliance stamp used on consumer goods during WWII, to ensure/mark that (IIRC) a special tax was paid because the brush (or other item) used materials that were deemed vital to the war effort.
SET GILLETTE SUPER CLICK VINTAGE RAZOR SHAVING SAFETY WITH SUPER THIN BLADE New Price: US $3.99 New condition
I've read some reviews of it and for being, supposedly, a rather flimsy razor a lot of people actually rather like them Here's a video review:
A small pack GEM SE razor blades. Tacked them on an Amazon order late last week. No Amazon Prime, so we'll see when they get around to shipping my order this time.
Yea...I 'GET" That! But; I'm NOT gonna "OPEN" it. Just gonna ADD it to my Collection! Why would I need to even TRY it; when I have so many wonderful Gillette Vintage "RINGERS" to shave with, everyday? It's a NOVELTY, to me!
Hah, hah...didn't mean to sound pejorative, herein! Guess I got in a hurry & didn't think about the 'tone' of my message. Your input was/is welcomed!
Whilst the Royale was designed in 1979, the Profile Mk3 Fixed Metal was released in 1990. The handle is longer, and the underside is not metal. It does feels like aluminum rather than the zinc of the Royale. Good score ...
Just kidding - enjoy the razor any way you want. I sure have my fair share of razors that have remained in their sealed boxes...
I have to go to a place called a Post Office to get my mail. No mail delivery in the frozen north cuz the sled dogs are too cold I guess
