Well, looks like I got a pretty good deal on the Black Handle Flair Tip (Y4) from Ebay, $11.00 shipped. All it needed was a toothbrush wash in Dawn to get rid of some soap scum and didn't even polish it.

Just got word from Chris Evatt (Razorplate.com) that both of my Gillette Toggles and Gillette Red Tip are done and will ship back to me tomorrow. Had one of the Toggles plated in Rhodium the other in gold, and the Red Tip had redone in Nickel.

 

I bet those will be quite a site to see. Congrats Guy. Nice additions to your arsenal

 

One of the toggles I have owned for nearly 3 years and the red tip 1.5 years but figured when I purchased my 2nd toggle in February to go ahead and send in all 3 for replate but none of them really needed a replate though the Red Tip did have two chips in the red handle so figured why not send them all?

 

I spoke with Chris the other day. He is really slammed with work. Till September. My 24K aristocrat and my Y2 president should be a few more weeks. He does beautiful work.

I was on the wait list almost a year before I got the word to go ahead and send my razors as I was next on the list. I'm sure based on pics that I have seen of his work it will be worth the wait.

So far, my best deal at Ebay was 2 1940's Superspeeds (1 real nice, other minor scratches) 2 Three piece short combs. 1 Star, 1 Kriss Kross, 1 Gem Micromatic, and 2 other Gems. All for $17.00 shipped. Only wanted the Gillettes, the rest I'll probably get rid of.
