Is that paint or *really* bad soap scum on the handle? I'm hoping for soap scum because I can't see how to remove paint without potentially damaging the plastic/catalin handle.
It looks like very bad soap scum. At least I am hoping that is what it is. I don't understand how a man can let his razor get so clogged. Maybe very hard water.
I can't even tell what color the handle is under that coating! Looking forward to seeing the after shots in 'the shine box' thread! Good luck with the clean up!
Those Schicks usually clean up well. I have two Gs and an E. They all look virtually new after I was through with them. Must be soap scum. My second guess is paint.
I wasn't going to buy any more shave related things this year, but I got bored... -Fine Classic American Blend Shaving Soap and aftershave set. -Acqua di Parma - Arancia di Capri. -Le Père Lucien "Hammam" Black Bath Soap. I have a nagging suspicion that my skin is starting to become irritated by menthol. My Fine Platinum AS burns a bit more than I care for, but then again, I've never been a big fan of menthol and as such don't really have a lot of mentholated products to compare it with. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to order another Fine AS, but I wanted the set in case I liked the soap The ADP is described as a unisex scent, and I've read some mixed reviews, but I recently opened a package that had received a spray of it and without knowing what the scent was, I knew straight away that I wanted it I couldn't find any mention or reviews of the LPL Hammam bath soap on the web, but it's LPL, so what can go wrong? It has an orange/eucalyptus scent and looks like jelly (200gr jar)
With all the talk about Kamisori razors, and seeing the the left handed one belonging to Kevin, @HolyRollah and being a lefty myself, I dropped the Yen for one. Kanenaga Yellow Steel Kamisori. Left Handed.
Awesome! One note though, fellow southpaw, although advertised as 'shave ready' the razor I received was not quite up to snuff (tuggy on my first shave) and had an uneven bevel. After spending some time on the jnats, it became wickedly sharp and gave a wonderfully smooth save. Beware both the toe AND heel points! They bite!
I watched the @gssixgun video you posted, and it seems doable to me. If I do screw it up, hopefully it won't be so bad that I can't send it to Glen for a fix. Yeah I can see how you would have to keep an eye on the heel of this puppy.
