On the plus side I got to smell the different scents. I really liked Wild Country, Everest and Leather and will be looking for it.
I'm waiting on several things 3 knots - I only have one handle but I wanted to have a few in case I didn't like one. I can always resell or get another handle. - 2 silver tip badgers 1 at 22 mm and 1 at 23mm - 1 boar knot A goodwill razor - much thanks to @Drygulch A gold super slim adjustable which was a good price.
I usually don't like to leave any evidence behind, especially on the internet but this weekend was especially kind to me. There are just two razors that I wanted to acquire and then my curiosity would be satiated, a Koraat and a Mastro Livi. A good friend at The Den was looking out for me and gave me first chance to buy his Mastro Livi. It is now on it's way here. Thank you Adam ( @Drygulch ) This weekend I also got an email from Ulrik my custom Koraat is ready. I ordered it just two weeks ago!
It'll take some time cleaning this up and it's missing the liner for the inside of the top cover, but got it for a decent price.
Trying to decide the color, maybe velvet. Some look red or purple from pics online and looks like it'll need lining for the bottom also. Interested in finding out how much of the silver plating is still on it. And after all is done, will have to find a razor blade case for it, hopefully at a good price. Who knows, this might be a good candidate for a complete re-finish, depending on it's original condition. Maybe a satin nickle............
thanks. I've been toying around on how to make the gold logo on the velvet for restoration. Like some kind of transfer sheet to rub in place and then seal it with something like a Fixative spray I use for my art work to protect it. Just an idea.
I like Atra cartridges and the Reed & Barton handles are very nice so I picked up this NOS one from 1977 for $27. They came out in two models/platings; silver and sterling silver. This is the sterling silver one.
I can't believe I actually found a seller on Ebay who has the right razor case for my Bostonian, and actually had a very good price on it. Most sellers want so much money just for razor cases, unbelievable.
Congrats. I think that blade case is slightly different than the Bostonian one but either way congrats .
I've seen some that were different, but they were for gold plated ones. And I saw a couple of cased sets with this type of razor case, with the bottom made for striking matches, but $9.00 shipped is better than some being sold by sellers in the $35.00 - $45.00 range. Could also be depending on what year it was made that a slightly different case style was used. Had to get it for that price.
6 10-blade dispensers of GEM single edge blades...3 bucks cheaper a pop than what Walgreen's has 'em for.
