A PantaRei "barrel" brush with a 28/30 manchurian badger knot. Just waiting for confirmation from the artisan
Pick up a Durham Duplex that is down to brass. Which is great because its for a Gillette OC New head. Also got a 1932 Canadian Gillette Tech (post war) oblong slots. Lastly I picked up three Maggard's 22mm black synthetic knots.
Okay, okay. I broke my no buy 2017 pledge. So boot me off of TSD, but it's worth it! Two Genco straight razors are inbound as we type! For the price, I couldn't say no. Don't tell my wife! If you do tell her, I got them at a rock bottom price!
You should like that. Especially after @gssixgun eorks his magic on it. I have four Korn razors, and several from Cattaraugus based on his patents.
that's been a challenge for me so far...at first sniff, I thought "Oh, kind of like Mennen(Skin Bracer)". But it isn't quite the same. I never tried Polo Green, other than sniffing it off pages of Men's Health, but I'd say it's somewhere in between Skin-Bracer and PG. Y'know, as I write, I wonder of the guys at Colgate tried to make something like this Avon, and it ended up to be Skin-Bracer.
Jim it was a pleasure knowing you here on TSD...have a great life and see ya at your next post here .
It was your comments (and some others) in another thread some time ago that got me looking for one. Trouble is I now have to sell a razor or two to make room in my storage case.
I wasn't expecting to win. I bid at the starting price, which was quite low, and nobody else bid. It's not too often I get lucky.
That's a great looking brush; I'd just worry about dropping it, making me hesitate getting one. The more I look over the artist work the more I like them!
Most folks who own one comment on how hefty and solidly built they are. The only thing I've dropped (causing damage) is a 3/4 full bottle of Floïd blue aftershave which took a chip out of the porcelain sink. That chip in the sink rim is a daily reminder to be careful
Thanks Guy. I had a hard time deciding but the wife really liked the barrel so went with it. The artisan has recreated some famous paintings on his pottery (IE Van Gogh's "Starry Night") that's very cool.
Picked up twelve five-packs of Wilkinson Adjustable cartridges (60 carts in total) for the princely sum of $10 Seller's photos:
Mismatched, yes, but two things I don't have. A mid 50's Gillette Flair Tip case, which will come in handy for one of mine needing a home. And a 1938 - 1945 Tech, which will replace my later Gold Tech, which still has all it's gold and I don't want to have it worn off, in my daily rotation.
A Wearever badger brush that I won off Ebay. I threw out a low-ball bid, ... and won. Less than $14, (shipped), for a badger brush that looks like it is in pretty good shape by the pictures. This will be my first badger brush. I am looking forward to giving it a cleaning, and working up a lather.
