What I do to re-condition an old brush is to soak it in hair conditioner for an hour or two. I also give it a few good "massages" with my fingers every twenty minutes or so to make sure the whole knot has been conditioned. Rinse it off real good and it should be fine.
Thanks Jimjo. I have some Borax for laundry use already. I was going it to use to loosen up any dirt, oil, or old soap. Then I will use hair conditioner. Does this sounds like a decent plan? Or would you skip the Borax?
Just sniped this Case Red Imp hollow grind to go with my wedge. A last minute bid not really expecting it to win, got it heading my way for $45. Looks worth it to me.
Thanks Jared. Cant believe the Semogues already arrived from Australia. Less than a week to get here, believe it was more like five days, unbelievable!
Coming soon 1 Feather Artist Club SS fold shavette & 1 IBC shavette with a Brandy color handle and it time to over come my biggest fear and learning curve experience is going to be a huge challenge for me, also their will be two different guard blade to try out is Feather Artist Club Pro Guard & Kai Captain Titan Mild Protouch MG Blade With Guard to start learning.
Start with the IBC. It is WAY easier to use than the Feather. I promise. I think the IBC is my favorite razor that I own.
The Gillette Travel Razor and case I won in the raffle. It's coming from Japan, so it could be awhile. Closer to home, ordered a new tube of Proraso Green Shaving Cream, Green AS and Razorock XXX Shaving Soap. Should be here 3/3.
@PickledNorthern what makes you think that the IBC shavette is WAY easier to use than the Feather Artist Club SS not the DX, can you please fully explain from your point of view I'm not trying to be a wise guy.
Now that I have figured out how to hone a straight, I decided to get some. Does anyone happen to know if the odd shaped one was made that way, or is it the result of a repair?
Guessing it had a broken toe. There's a discussion at SRP about Shorties. The whole end of the blade might be taken off and matching scales fitted. I do believe Adam @Drygulch has done this alteration?
