Well I broke my cheap pocketknife and sought to find a replacement (preferably made in USA). I found a misnamed Clauss (made in Ohio) and made them a crazy offer which they accepted.

Listed as new and for less than $5 shipped, hard to go wrong.

 

Traded a puck of AoS Tallow Sandalwood for an unopened AoS Oud cream.

Whew!

I think that the Impoverished Patrician (that '48-'50 Aristocrat I scored a few weeks ago) has started me on a new sub-RAD. I'm definitely going to need to pick your brain (and probably a few others) for advice on how to replace the missing case insert.

 

I also thought of that. It probably won't be hard to make up one, not metal like the original, but of foam and/or cardboard. If you want, I'd give it a shot.

 

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'll probably take you up on your offer after it arrives. Thanks!

 

I saw a reasonably priced Feather Portable and picked it up.

 

You can piece one together really easily.

I finally found my open comb Gem Damaskeene and got it at a reasonable price. It has a case in good condition and a stropping handle. It should be in my mailbox by the end of this week.

I’ve been searching for a decent and affordable OC Damaskeene for over a year and two came up on eBay on the same day. Go figure!

 

Oh man... It's on my 'list'. Great score.
