Two brushes .... One is a Kent and the other I think is a beat the snot Plisson. The price was a steal and I'll probably restore both; the box was just a bonus.
thats funny , i sold my personna platinums to my friend as well, wasn t enamoured with them compared to my others.1 have 100 permasharps, well 99, stashed away..my astras sp i use still..i never bothered with sample packs because i supply my friends with blades.. one of them can shave with a cat food tin lid and doesn t care what the box says..there may be more to that than one thinks..i have gillette platinums for special occasions...yeah right..have you noticed any benefit to using vintage gillette spoilers or schick blades? are they worth the extra money and effort to source them ?subjective but some folks go out of there way to find them.are todays off continent blades filling the void?
I was blessed with a PIF of a great variety of blades to try, and I found many that people reaver as the best and the greatest in blades, to be not much better than an unforgiving shard of glass against my skin. I look for the combination of sharpness, smoothness and longevity in a blade; I found those qualities only in a hand full of blades that I've mentioned. This all said I do not seek blade nirvana, but I only seek to enjoy my hobby.
Waiting on these $4.50 shipped. I recently shaved with a techmatic and if you haven’t, you should. What an awesome shave.
This one has quite awhile of a break in period... lol mine is destroyed I keep it for memories Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes they are. 50% thicker and heavier than typical. Almost as weighty as vintage Blue Blade (which I weigh as .90g).
Okay, I'm now reading this thread on a computer and am confused... The second photo shows a thickness (I think) of 0.06 mm. Looking back through some old posts, I note that the Dorco Titan blade specs include the statement " Thin blade thickness is 0.075mm, while other products are 0.1mm." That would seem to make this blade even thinner than a blade which is already thinner than most blades. Huh?
Yep I read the thickness wrong. So it's super thin but weighs 50% more than a normal blade?? Got me. Model number ST-400
If this were Gillette in the '60s, then I'd assume something like a Neutronium coating. As it is, I'm confused as well.
In today's mail I'll be getting a cruddy NEW just begging for a polishing, and a vintage Twist o Flex type expansion watchband.
