I've been waiting on my custom plated 1958 Fat Boy to come back from Chris at Razor Plate. The razor was completely disassembled and cleaned before plating. The head, collet and TTO are rhodium, the handle and adjuster are black rhodium. We used white paint on the numbers for contrast. Just got sent my first pics of the finished product!
Spent $10 on a small, vintage Pinaud bottle that came with the original stopper/dabber. I like that it's a smaller 4 inch bottle - and it will soon be filled with some yummy Veg when I get my hands on it. The seller was honest about that even though there are no cracks, etc it will need a really thorough cleaning...but I think I've cleaned worse.
That is awesome! Very unique. Beautiful razor.......... I was not familiar with Razor Plate. I think I'm going to send my '59 Fat Boy in to be replated
Chris is awesome. A perfect gentleman and a great replater. You can check his website: www.razorplate.com Cap'n Murphy is on B&B and absolutely loves to disassemble and clean fat boys (and other razors) just as a hobby. I say go for it!
Absolutely, this is the third razor he's done for me. First was my 1958 Executive in 24 kt gold: Then there was a late 40's Tech I had replated in nickel for my wife: He can't be beat. On the Fat Boy he originally was to plate the handle is "black chrome". But he had problems with a supplier and upgraded me to black rhodium at no charge.
2 pounds of Pea protein powder. I use it in my after work out recovery shakes as I don't like animal protein. It's also great when you make one for a friend, because the look on their face is priceless when you ask how they like it, and they say they like it fine and then you tell them, "It's got pea in it". Of course, they're thinking pee....
