Yesterday I bought off of eBay a full bottle of the original version of Old Spice aftershave made by Shulton for $26 after s&h. The bottle size is 4.75 ounces; now I just need the matching shave soap lol.
Thank you. Simpson brushes have gone through some changes over the many years. I am NO expert. There are the Somerset era brushes; Grey Box era, etc. It simply refers to a time when SOME feel the quality was higher. I happen to share that belief.
obtained from the Bay recently. Been wanting the Clemak for a while now. Cleaned up nicely. The Autostrop fills in my collection. Need to spruce her a bit. She’s a little long in the tooth. Still have a way to go for the rest of the girls. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
thank you Danny, this one completes my flat bottom tech collection..well all my tech collection actually..
Congrats! There is a difference between modern and vintage Old Spice. That Shulton soap is going to set you back about the same as what you paid for the AS. I keep hoping I'll find a puck in the wild for closer to original price. There are a number of soap makers producing smell-alike soaps. I haven't gone shopping yet. I recall seeing offerings from B & M, Soap Commander, and Stirling, though there are probably more.
There's always the hunt for nicer pieces. The purchases will necessarily slow down, but the hunting doesn't have to.
very true sir, thats the stage i am at i think, love the hunt, and a few razors i would like nicer examples of..
I found on eBay a 3 ounce refill shave soap puck of Shulton Old Spice for $34 so I bought that along with an Old Spice shaving mug from around the same time period for $20. So now I have the holy trinity of OS classic products. Shave soap, shave mug and aftershave all made by Shulton.
Purchased a single ring made in England really reasonable because the handle is cracked. This is going to be a project. I will keep you informed as I go... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
