Waiting on a EJ89 "Extra Grip" from Maggards and a 80 blade sampler from Tryablade. Going to convert a friend to DE wet shaving. For myself, I'm waiting on a 100 pack of Voskhod blades from Russia.
I've just gone a little crazy. !!!! My wife was telling me I'm not to spend any more money on my hobby. ( our New Years resolution was to make a few cut backs on what we don't need, and look at getting a new family car). I said "no dear. The only thing I would one day like is a wilkinson sword sticky, like my dad used to have. But they don't even come up for sale, let alone for me to justify spending what some go for". Well bless her. She found one and it should be here on Monday. I was so pleased. I had to go to my usual online supplier and order some new soaps to go with it. They had a deal on buying two creams. I've always wanted to try proraso red. And it was rude not to get the green too. I love all the menthol Monday posts and want to try it. I was having a macca root Monday. But I'm not enjoying the product. Oh...... The car??? Yeah. I'm not waiting for that to arrive just yet.

Thanks! I was intrigued by the look and some of the comments I've read, which caused me to order it. It just arrived and on first look it is tiny. I know, "piccolo", what did I expect? However, it is heavy for the size and seems nicely balanced. Looking at the head from the side, I think the curvature of the base plate reminds me of the 37C without the slant. I'm looking forward to giving it a test run tomorrow. I have acquired what I consider the four cornerstones of razor design. I started with the EJ89, then moved to the 37C for a few months and graduated to the R41 (which I love), and finally this. A closed comb, slant, the gnarly beast, and a true open comb. Next stop? Straights... maybe.
