What are you waiting on to arrive...?

Last night I won this 1946-47 Gillette Super Speed WITH the original box, U shaped cardboard piece to hold the razor and matching cream colored Blue Blade dispenser for $60 + $5.5o shipping. I was the only one that bid on this complete set. Other photos show that the box is in very good condition. For those wondering, I am definitely going to use this razor to shave with as I don’t believe in using razors as paperweights.

 

Right now the only thing that I'm waiting on to arrive is M&M Trinity.

 

A half-dozen two ounce samples of Catie's Bubbles soaps.

 

cool ss set..i agree.they are meant to be used..using a new 75 year old razor is a great experience imo..

Are vintage PAL blades Carbon steel or Stainless steel? Would they be usable?

Are these "PAL" blades good for use and you bought them for that purpose? Or, are they "collectible" and were merely an addition to your collection?

I'd forgotten about this brand.

 

I'm not certain, but my research so far points to them being carbon steel. Either way, they can't be any worse for shaving than the Chinese Shick blades, which don't work nearly as well in Pal razors as they do in Shicks

 

Interesting. I thought Chick blades were well regarded for PAL/Schick injectors?

 

Not stupid at all. They are for use in my Pal razors as an alternative to the Chinese Shick blades, which work fine in my Shick razors, but not so well in the Pals.

 

For me, the Chicks don't work as well in my Pal injector razors.

 

One thing to keep in mind. The angle when using a PAL is different then a Schick (a little steeper). Schick blades work fine for me in my PAL razors.

Thanks. I am aware of the difference and adjust for it. Shick head flat against the skin, Pal at more of an angle. I get great results with Chicks in the Shicks, but not so much in the Pals.

 

This is a new one for me!

What is it like?

 

Don’t know never tried it. Made by the Ones that make Tabac Aftershave.
