morning Jim.it worked out very well.thank you.nice shaver..a little fiddly to load the blade but easy enough.

 

Good to know. I'm looking forward to trying one out when it arrives. I'm also waiting for some Feather FHS-10 blades from Amazon.

 

very cool.there are some model valets that require a mod but not the later ones i think.i would research the model you have with the pin layout in the blade holder to make sure..

 

I'm depending on information frpm the author of the link I posted recently.. According ro him:
" To the best of my knowledge modern Feather FHS-10 or FAS-10 blades will work in any model of AutoStrop or Valet AutoStrop razor."

As a matter of interest, In the small Nebraska town where I went to college in the late '60s, there was a drug store that still had a new-0ld-stock Gillette Valet Auto/Stop razr on the shelf. But in those days I was more interested in making the rounds of the local barber shops and buying up their unwanted straight razors.

 

very cool.that would have been a score..could still be there..

 

Nice, it's a great razor. I just sold my f4 toggle on Ebay last month...Hardly ever used it, but somehow I now regret giving it up.
