The nice thing about Thäter brushes, is that they are incredibly soft, without sacrificing backbone and, most importantly (for me, anyway), they have great flow-through. Some of my Simpsons are complete lather hogs. The Thäters release the lather easily. Their Boar brushes are terrible. I spent $90 bucks on a Thäter "Premium Boar", it was a TSN LE a few years ago, and it was the scratchiest brush I have ever owned. I had to tear out the knot and replace it with a Declaration Grooming B5, which I ended up selling.

I love my Simpson chubby 2 and will never get rid of it but its a complete lather hog. Thater is the only brand i still want to buy and ill be happy with my collection. Thats crazy you say that about the thater boar because i wanted that brush so bad but passed on it and it sounds like i made the right choice.

    Lol not many clints around.

Im fine without it. I have plenty of semogue and omega boars. It has a great handle though.

I was a boar guy for a long time but im really loving badger right now.

Take a look at Mondial boars. BEST available. Not too pricey, either.
