I have recently come across some rather annoying armchair athletes on Facebook. I saw some clips of champion archers; some using compound bows, others using Olympic recurve bows. From folks who had clearly never shot a bow, there were numerous comments to the effect that; A) Barebow archery is the only real archery. B) Anyone can shoot perfectly with all of the accessories used on higher tech bows. This is, of course, nonsense. Those of use who prefer the high-tech options prefer them for the very good reason that they are more accurate. Others prefer low-tech, as they like the tie to tradition. No matter what style you shoot, it takes a lot of time & effort to do it well. Interestingly, when I am at a meet, or even just practicing at the club, the archers who shoot different types of bows are quite respectful of one another.
As one who would have been a lousy archer(recall, I used to be afraid I'd fire the bow into my right hand)I can't comment on your expertise of the sport. I learned at a young age archery isn't for me.
Y'oughta hit the bullseye with ONE of those babies, I'll say that right now(oh, I already DID say that, lol).
