I tried Ladas just before starting the 30 days. I was quite impressed with it. Have ordered a couple more from tryablade.com to try again in February.
My two favourite blades are Astra SP and Gillette Silver Blues. Given how long they last and the fact that they have never tugged on me, only delivering smooth irritation free shaves, I would then have to say that Russia makes the "best" blades for me, in the St.Petersburg factory. Feathers are definitely the sharpest and in the right razor, a mild one for me, they deliver outstanding results. The trouble is they don't last very long and at current prices, are quite expensive. They also do not suit a range of razors, something I don't find with Astra's or Blues. I picked the former as my first 100 pack because I couldn't argue with them at £7.50 per 100, and I get 10 + shaves with them. The cheapest I've seen Blues is around £16.00 per 100, but I only get 6 - 7 shaves with them. Of course YMMV but the certainly are two blades that stand out on all the forums. It just comes down to how you categorise the "best" for you. Rapira Swedish Supersteels at their current prices would only reinforce my point. They are an excellent blade regardless of price but again, difficult to see past Russia.
My vote goes to Israel Crystal, Persona reds (Favorites) etc. and Russia (Rapira, Voskhod etc., and yes some Gillette)
