I learned that a fresh Voskhod in the R41 is a great combo for a 3 day beard.

    Today I learned...

TSD Lanolin Shave Sticks are easy to apply to the face, and explode into rich lather when hit with a wet brush.

(I bowl lathered it the first time I used it)

    I learned today:
    • Shaving in the tub with a hand mirror is as cool as it looks in the westerns....

    I learned...

I still have a lot to learn in soap lathering, I couldn't get good lather from Whoos soaps until today when I started with brush full of water. So I need to go through each soap and cream and perfect the lather.

I learned my styptic pencil worked extremely well. I can't believe I never heard of this amazing tool until taking up wet shaving. Ironically I have cut myself less now that I'm using a DE.

Details >here<, but I have slightly downgraded my esteem for the underdog of razors: the Yuma. It delivers a very good shave — and let no one say otherwise :yoda2 — but the journey can be as important as the destination.

I learned two things with my shave this morning:
    1. Ladas blades can provide an excellent shave (my first time with Ladas) in a late 40's Super Speed.
    2. My ceramic lather bowl can float in my hot water in the sink with the brush in it whilst I am shaving and it keeps my lather warm for pass 2 & 3!

  16. KLF

    KLF Doctorin

What I learned today is that no matter how great your lather is, a drop of glycerin will always improve it

I learned that one really bad shave can be followed by a really great one if you just mix things up.

"Returned" to a SE razor today, an OC Micromatic, and it gave a fantastic shave.
Even the backbone-lacking Plisson brush performed so much better than my pesky Vie-Long brush.
I face lathered and it all came together beautifully.
The 3P soap is still one of the favorite soaps in my rotation and the Zirh Erase my new favorite A/S treatment/tonic.
It's good when things really do come together.

I learned that I prefer the clean menthol of TSD Iced Subzero or Yeti Snot over the anise laced Glacial Obsidian.
