  2. I call that "a shave too far."
... a reference to the film, of course... and a reminder to self about my goal for each shave: maximize shaving enjoyment. Cool thing is that's an adaptive goal. I find maximizing blade life frequently sacrifices enjoyment!

SO... why do I keep getting sucked into "just one more shave... it'll probably be OK. I'll use an extra light touch?" It NEVER happens! Sheesh!
  3. That Jabonman Honeysuckle is a wonderful soap.....great scent, great lather, great shave. :D
  4. I know what you mean about not enjoying the shave even though it was a good one. My last shave with my aristocrat wasn't nearly as enjoyable as with the shave before with my Fatboy. It just felt not quite as smooth on the face, like I was scraping it with a shard of glass. Weird. Its felt like that before too.

  5. That I really like the 'new' fat handle tech I have.
  6. That the "Slant" hype is in fact true they are amazing!

  7. I keep on going back to the Shick G injector, and keep on getting great shaves, with very little irritation..... so far, my go to razor
  8. Today I learned how to shave with a straight razor!

  9. I learned that Feathers really are a great blade. BBS on three passes and absolutely no irritation. Gonna have to get some more of these.
  10. Congrats! Someday I may give it a try for something very unique that few do (in the general population, not based on us diehards in the forum).

  11. My regard for the Schick Krona was reinforced and I found I am not enamored with Bush Pilot shave cream. IMO, meh.

  14. I learned that if a 53 tech normally provides a good shave, mounting the tech head on a heavy Utopia handle makes for a better shave. I may adopt Frankenrazor usage soon.

  15. I learned that the micro touch safety razor is a pretty good razor for 20$. No irritation and second pass was smooth.
  16. Yes. The MTO gets maligned by some, but is actually a modern imitation of the Gillette SS razors if the 40's and 50's. I used one last week and had a great experience. It was the first DE I ever had, and I have a new found respect for it after last week. In my signature there is an MTO group launching a pass around...if anyone is interested, click away. You may be surprised by MTO. In the hands of a competent user it is a fine razor, albeit quite mild.

  17. I do that a lot. I've got a Weber Bulldog handle that I use for every three piece Gillette I have.

  18. I think I have seen the light...it was way easier to get smooth with the added mass of the Utopia handle...pushed that Ladas around like a race car! Sweet blade btw!
  19. Learned that the perfect handle for my iKon Shavecraft 102 is the iKon 85mm Buldog Handle. It gives great weight to the razor.

  20. That a DE89 with a single shim gives a really good shave. Better than my NEW, not quite as good as my Fatboy on 9.
