What did we learn from our last shaves?

For about 6 months I used my R41 (2013) exclusively, I found that I couldn't shave everyday with it. I ended up going every other day.

I learned that MdC needs to be in my rotation a couple times a week. The way my face feels 11 hours post shave is crazy good.

That's how I judge soaps/shaves too! It's why I am writing my 30 Day Rule reports 8-12 hours after the shave. MdC is going on my list!

I learned not to go past 3 shaves on each blade or I'm in a world of pain.

1 - Just because KMF is a womans cream doesn't mean a man cannot use it.
    2 - I love the Edwin Jagger DE89.

I learned that a Feather Pro Super (SE) blade gives 13 great shaves -- and counting.

Waiting for my 30 days to be up so I can buy some - 7 days down - I really want to know if the Ben Franklin soap smells like an older gentleman’s pantaloons at the end of a hot July day in Philadelphia, drafting important documents with no air conditioner.

Franklin was also a womanizer so it may smell, well....

I realized that for the last 3 months, I have only shaved with an SE razor. Huh...

    Gentlemen, from my last shave...

An aggressive razor may be better for moderately sharp blades than a mild one.

That Feather blades on their second outing, in a mild razor (Gillette Ball End Tech), produce outstanding results. I was still BBS after 24 hours. Definitely a go to combination if I'm depending on a great shave.

I have always wondered how a fat bald guy became such a player

The same reasons 200+ years ago still apply today. Money and power.

I learned that many times I don't know as much as I think I know. You know?

I had a run of really good, close, comfortable DFS and DFS+ head shaves with my Fatboy on 9, then with a shimmed DE89 when I sent my Fatboy to Captain Murphy at B&B for some TLC, then for the first couple of weeks with my R41 after Christmas. Then all of a sudden this week when I started back to work, I've had 4 not so good shaves in a row, 2 with the R41, 2 with the freshly cleaned and repaired Fatboy. Only getting to CCS not DFS, and there is more irritation.

The only trend I can see is that my best shaves over the past few months have all come when I'm using my topical antibiotic. Looks like back to the dermatologist I go...

I learned trouble always happens when you get in a hury - Let me just slap that razor across my bare naked neck for a quick touch up on that one little spot. :angry032:
