What did we learn from our last shaves?

It was my first time using my new British Flair Tip Rocket and I learnt that it was an excellent razor.
Happy to add it to the razor rack(s)....

    1) I really miss mentholated soaps
    2) Don't chase the baby.

Mainly that I'm just hard headed. I kept trying to take it slow and focus on my technique but I just ended up cutting myself. Now I just go for it and have it in my mind whatever happens happens and strangely enough my shaves are progressing.

That MWF will likely become my new #1 soap.

Today I had reinforced that this shaving thing is a Zen, head thing, more than a tool thing. The more we focus on the technique, and keep the busyness out of our heads, the more likely we will have a positive experience. I changed one thing.... added a chin to shave, to the mix, and that is all I could focus on, causing some weepers.

I learned that while watching my 16 year old son shave with his 1940 super speed, I get sentimental.

Independently I was going to report a similar experience. I put a Feather blade in my 40's era SS and got a better shave on the 2nd use of that blade (BBS) than the first go around. The third time using the blade resulted in a DFS experience though.

I learned to slow down a little. Much better results without a great deal more effort. :)

Don't overstretch your skin. That might lead to irritation. :)

Shaving under home conditions way better than when on the road. Nice to be back in my own den!

I learned that not all my straight razors are as forgiving as others as far as irritation.

JR Reyes I scream for....chicken wings??

I learned that LPL soap is next level! Very good stuff and it just raised the bar on what I expect out of a good performer.

LPL really stands for Luxurious, Protective, Lather! Seriously get some if you can...

Comparable to MdC on many levels and at a very reasonable price. :happy088:
