I learned that some of the best shaving products to be found are in the local CVS drugstore. They are also reasonably priced.
Arko! Arko! Arko! (I love Arko) From my last shave I reinforced that shallow blade angles cut better for me.
No shave today, but showered with Chinese sandalwood soap, Vitalis on the dome, Clubman on the face... I like smelling like a barber's shop 24-7-365.
I learned unrefined shea butter can spoil. It went from yellow to white, isn't as creamy, and smells like strong pecans now.
I learned that cool water shaving with Proraso Green and Skin Bracer, followed by a dash into the 19f air outside, is indeed a life affirming experience.
Over the past few days, I learned that using extra WH and aftershave balm further reduces my irritation.
My unrefined shea butter containers have expiration dates on them. I've used the same container for a year or so with no problem of spoilage. I keep one in the bathroom and one on my desk at work. I use it as an aftershave treatment and on my hands. I have noticed variations in color, smell, and texture between containers. One of them now has a more nutty smell and is more grainy, but it still works OK. How old is your container, and how do you store it? And kudos to @celestino for introducing me to unrefined shea butter a couple of years ago! It is the best thing I've ever used on my skin. My whole family uses it now.
I've had it since last winter. I bought the stuff direct from Amazon. I store it in a tupperware knockoff container I got at the dollarstore. It still works but it has a more pasty consistency and I don't like the smell of pecans.
