Didn't learn but was reminded there's not a thing wrong with disposables/cartridge shaves if you have prep and technique down.
That Proraso Green soap and Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue make a great pair. I may need to try more menthol with my shaves.
I learned that a Fatip wooden handle razor is lighter than I expected. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
That a razor that is *too* mild requires too much work and ultimately results in an unsatisfactory shave with face irritation.
A Gillette Black Beauty is quite a bit more aggressive than I thought it would be, apparently. Alum Block and contact lenses should not be handled on the same morning. No matter how much you think you have rinsed your hands following.
That I can use cream vs soap, skip most of the prep, do a single pass, thereby having a decent wet shave quickly in a pinch (as quickly as goo + cartridge, but much better).
That Bolzano blades are really good. Right up there with my favorites, the Perma-Sharp Supers. They're just a little pricey in comparison.
Yesterday I learned that maybe I do know how to bowl lather. Never got decent results before, and it's probably been a year since I've tried. On a whim I decided to bowl lather my Bigelow yesterday. It came out pretty darn good.
That no matter which razor I try them in, I'm just not going to like Sharks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I learned that if I was held at gunpoint and forced to use one shaving cream for the rest of my life(with the warning, "You WILL be watched!!), I'd make it Rise Super Foam. But to be more serious, while I do like Barbasol a lot, Rise gets top nod for me.
That using as little pressure as possible with the GEM MMOC razor yields good results. I repeated over and over "no pressure, no pressure" as I shaved. It worked. That razor can shred you up if you don't watch out! I was also reminded as to the quality of Proraso White. That's good stuff!
