A lot of fragrances are extremely cheap and fake smelling. Axe certainly falls in this category. My best advice would be to take your wife to an upscale department store to sniff test the colognes. See what you like and what she likes. A lot of people "say" they enjoy something when there is something else that is actually preferred. Maybe she just enjoys synthetic fragrances. Maybe there is a particular scent note that she finds interesting. Maybe she is a &!+*# that spends all your money...No...Wait, that's my wife. Anyway, just go and find out what you like together.
As long as they are liking me I will settle for that. In all seriousness, I am sure their tastes are as subjective and diverse as ours.
look at the Billy Joel-Christie Brinkley marriage(done now, of course). Christie is beautiful, and Billy Joel is no Robert Redford. But they became a couple.
resurrection. My wife, and other women that I work around, still like, and comment about liking, the Shulton Old Spice, and Avon Spicy aftershaves.
The problem with this thinking, as my girl friend says, "most women when it comes to stuff like this dont know what they like, but they do know what they dont like, so expiramentation will probably yeild the solution. One thing is everything goes in cycles, during the 90s aqua velva, old spice, brut were considered tacky because in the 70s and 80s everyone was wearing those, so most people started wearing drakk noir, polo, ect, now that the classics have been out of rotation some ladies really enjoy them, i was surprised how many compliments i get since going back to old spice. But your best bet is to expirement and find out what she prefers
As I see it, the problem is that there are about 3.5 billion women and we can't possibly all like the same things. So, in my opinion, the question, as worded can't be answered. Presumably the concern is finding out what the woman in your life likes or dislikes. For that reason, I agree with @rbilly ; you and the woman you care for will have to figure it out together.
