  2. This looks like the workout the lead actor (leonidas(?sp) was doing to get ripped for the movie. Or it was something extreme like this. He ended up way over-training and had to stop for a few months.

As a one time test, I can see this, but as a workout...?

    Jordan

  3. This was a one time test. The training they did was different from day to day but almost as demanding.
  4. Anybody have any Power Towers and what do you think of yours? (Chin-U/Pull-Up, Leg Raise, Dip)

I was looking at either a Powertec PB-T or Proform Fusion 1.5T. Big price difference though. Since I weigh 235 lbs. I need something rock solid.

  6. Well I am getting back into it! I have decided to start back up my calorie counting and my Cellercising. I will be adding the Wii Fit when it is released in a few weeks so I will be having two exercises per day which will keep my body busy.

I am still 20 pounds down from when I originally started up so I am in good shape.. but time to knock off those last 10-15 pounds and then I will be perfect. Ohhhhh yeah. :D

I did about 7 minutes of Cellercising today and my body went "That's enough" so I will spend a few days building back up to my 15 minute routine.

Today is my last day of free eating.. :(
  7. I'm boxing and hitting the heavy and speed bags in addition to lifting and spinning. I'm going to start an intense routine this summer to see how far I can take my body.

  8. Way to Go Ken still a nice result 20 pounds !
I shall keep an eye on ya.... progression ;)
  9. Yeah I have quite a bit to be proud of.. but it is time to finish what I started.

I did day two today.. extended it by 2 minutes.. tomorrow I will probably make the leap back to my full routine. Yeah.. it is only two days of build up.. but I am going to kick myself back into shape.. haha. I am sure it won't be pleasant for the first few days.
  10. I picked up the new Wii Fit game for the Nintendo Wii today. At the very least I thought it would be fun and at the very best it would actually be a good exercise tool. Price wasn't too bad, 89 bucks gives you a game AND a special balance board thing that you use mostly. Do a google on it to find out the specifics.

Anyway, I plugged it in and went through the set-up for it. Had my cute little Mii and everything. It does a posture and basic check to start off.. and boy is my posture terrible. My weight is badly shifted to the back on my heels.. which would explain a lot. It also gave me a BMI score, a weight count and a bunch of other stats. In short, the balance board is CRAZY accurate. EVERYTHING you do on it is registered and even minor movements show up. If you use it seriously and don't try to cheat it you are not getting anything by the Balance board. It even knew when I took off my heavy shirt and replaced it with a T-shirt, since it said my weight was different. DAMN!

So I started going through some of the exercises. They are broken up into four categories: Yoga, Strength, Aerobics and Balance.

The Balance ones are fun little games that help you shift body weight and stuff.

Strength are things like push-ups and such for building muscle.

Aerobics are things like hoolahops (yeah, you twist your hips) and running/jogging which is GREAT because I can job on my Cellerciser and get it's benefits yet I now have goals/scenery to run with so I think that is VERY cool.

Yoga is exactly what it sounds like.. Yoga poses and such. Damn those things are TOUGH but look so easy (well, the first few look easy.. haha).

It tracks how you do and gives you reports and then it also keeps track of how much you use it. Today I put in 30! minutes with Wii Fit.. and I ACTUALLY feel something which is great. I think that adding Wii Fit to my routine is actually going to help and I'll be honest, it was FUN.

If anyone out there has a Wii and is looking for a fun way to maybe get some extra exercise into your life or want a compliment to whatever you are already doing, pick up Wii Fit.. if you can find it. It sold out EVERYWHERE here within an hour of the stores opening.
  11. Nice to see you still keeping it up Ken to me it seems you have what it takes to get healthy and thats all whats it about.

Im going to rebuild my Garage into my own personal Greek Spartan training gymn well a few luxury items aswell ;) not all rocks and stones

sofar I have ordered the following

    1- 3 persons INFRA-Red Sauna ( 1 person is so claustrofobical )
2- Teeter F7000 inversion hang up to perform Sit ups completely in a decompressed 90 degree angle that way all the force to do a pull up comes from the stomach I need to get rid of some stuborn fat.
3- Medical Wall Closet for storage of supplement and bandaid etc.

    Wish list

    : Bow flex dumbells
    : Threadmill
: Heater for training in Winter
: Rower (pref Concept 2 used if possible )
    :Cross Trainer
    :Spinbike
    :Swiss Ball (sit ups )
:Weight system to do Squats and normal Bench presses not decided to go for which System.
:Medicine Ball (all kinds of excersizes )
    :punching bag /Boxers station

I need to figure out the insulation of the walls so I can train in the winter and the floor there needs be somekind of rubber mats. it will be tricky for Space but since you dont need to Display everything up like in a real gymn I can fold things up and move from item to item .

I was a bit out of the running training wise but im back with a bang my 4th and 5th neck bone were corrected by orthomanual techniques which were ver painfull the 1st session and moderate uneasy the 2nd.

The Teeter tabel will be delivered this week if things go smoothly.
Offcourse the Cellerciser is still used..

train hard everyone and good health to you ...

  12. Fitness progressions.

How are we doing at keeping up the excersizes folks.

At the moment my Gymn is closed for 2 weeks of holiday so I will have to do with my own home gymn tools at home.

The Teeter F7000 works like crazy for doing sit ups in a 90 degree upside down position a total AB killer.

Taking my Proteine shakes regular ,taking my Vemma vitamine bomb every morning . biggest change eating Tuna in the morning and more Meat more veggies .

I am still way to FAT way too thick my Fat percentage is way too high you can train till you drop dead a 6 pack can never emerge when you dont bring down the bodyfat.

yes thats the Greek flag around my waiste :happy102:happy102 long story !

but its the Greeks that saved me health wise..

I have decided to stop with Aikido for atleast another 5-6 months till I have strenghtened my body enough , my neck spine nr 4 and nr 5 has been corrected by an orthomanual therapist my neck feels alot better now but any wrong freefall with Aikido could upset the balance in my neck even a simple arm movement I feel the neck spines because yes I trained 1 time about 2 weeks ago and there was one move this woman pulled and I felt it in my neck .

This means I had to cancel my Trip to Japan which would have been my holiday for this year aswell.

Last 2 weeks been good Ive been breaking some of my records at the moment I leg Press 250KG. imagine this weigh on your leg you press in about 10 seconds one way then back in 10 seconds and you keep this up atleast you try for 2 whole minutes till your legs are completely dead muscle wise .

I have done 270kg even but that was CRAZY of my coach. he must have been over excited .

I supplement with DEXTROSE and WHEY directly after a severe workout like this.

anyone benefits from a bit of weight training if not just to feel good in your own body .

anyone else to share their progressions ?

  13. look at those muscles!!!
  14. I am retraining for a 5k Breast Cancer run after having to take year off for surgery.

After that I hope to get to 10-15 miles a day. I already run an 8.3min mile so that ain't bad. Just gotta keep it for the whole 15 miles. I run to military cadence. If you have not tried this DO IT. Those in the military can attest to its ability to drown out pain and boredom.
  15. Good for you man ! running is still my weakest point in my fitness I cant keep excited enough to do it. and I dont like the stress on my knees .

I did start with running though and I have excellent NIKE running shoes to absorb the shocks still its very boring to me :( but the cardio workout you get from running is 2nd to none. people are made for running . problem is when you stop you have to way start from the beginning again .

In europe we talk in Km not in Miles. 1Km = a 1000 meters
  16. :eatdrink047

Diet and excercise all in one... 12oz curls..
  17. To put a fine edge on this monks brewed Bock beer to drink during periods of fasting because it contained as much nutrition as bread. So go ahead and fill up on bread.
  18. Been a LONG time since I have updated my status here, and since I really can't remember what I said last I'll just start from the top.

For those not following the odyssey, last summer I was at a peak of 235 pounds. I was unhappy and such, so with help from Rene I picked up a Cellerciser and around.. September 07 or so I started to work with it. I started to get much more serious around November or so and started to slowly change how I eat too, and I was at a stable 227.7 pounds.

Anyway, I made some more updates and blah blah blah.. (lol) and I got lazy again. Back in May 08 or so I was around 219 (still down a good amount) and decided to kick start again with Wii Fit! That was fun and I was able to knock myself down to 214 or so with a combo of Wii Fit and the Cellerciser.

I got lazy again (see a pattern?) and went back up to 220! Well starting September first I started to again watch what I eat (mostly how MUCH) and I started on a Yoga programme. My first official weigh in for this phase was 218.9.

Today I weighed myself and I am down to 207.7, which is the lowest I have been in.. 6..7 years easy. My original goal back last year was 200 pounds and I am getting pretty close to it.. so we'll see where we go!

    Short form:

    Peak: August '07 @ 235 pounds
    Today: Nov 2nd '08 @ 207.7 pounds
  19. Wow! That's awesome, Ken!

    :happy096
  20. Way to go Ken,

Sounds like you'll be hitting your goal soon.....just don't lose track of it..:) I am going to have to step it up this winter too.... I could stand to loose a few pounds as well :o

That Wii Fit does look like a fun way to burn some calories :)
