That's nice. Unfortunately i never met any of my grandparents. By the time i was born, they were all dead. Talk about bad luck... My father was a wet shaver all his life, but he never tried to convince me to go wet shaving, as my generation grew up with Gilette multiblades. As a matter of fact, my mother was praising us kids for using multiblades "finishing quickly, instead of going like turtles with brushes, obsolete razors and such". I think my father had a Gilette super speed (with no colours on tip). I remember he always used Gilette blades, something in white package and blue or silver letters, i think. Unfortunately, my mother threw everything away once he died...
I imagine it is, however, if they come in sealed packages, like the Derbys i just got, where each 5 pack is wrapped in plastic, i don't see how my local humidity can affect them. The humidity at the time of packaging (in Turkey) is what will matter. If i want to be paranoid, i could wrap the entire package in plastic wrap (the one you use for food) and add some silica cat litter inside before closing the wrap. The silica litter should absorb the little moisture. But the less air is present inside (the plastic wrap will help in that), the less chance of humidity left. I think one should worry more about whether it was a rainy day in Turkey/Russia/whenever they manufacture them, the day that they were packed.
Being paranoid can actually be good sometimes. Better safe than sorry. I also like computer software and i remember once an antivirus developer saying "the paranoids are the ones who are less prone to get a virus. Because they have multiple lines of defense, don't trust anything and always expect the worst".

Me, straight razor? Never going to happen... But i can see the advantage. I think i will be fine with just hoarding some hundreds of blades. If shortage appears, i think we will notice and grab some more. The bad thing with the hypothesis of shaveapocalypse, is that eventually, i will have to use canned foam. I really can't see myself keeping soaps in the freezer. It's a bit too much. On the other hand, since soaps have fats, i don't think they can remain without alteration for many years. Sure, it can probably lather, but what if it smells foul, from the rancid fat? Or doesn't smell at all anymore... Anyway, i 've used canned foam for all my shaving years, i guess i can live with that again. It's not so evil.
