What is your pick of Gillette vs merkur adjustable razors?

Or a Star Wars fan. I'm I the only one who thinks the handle looks suspiciously like a Light Saber handle?

 

This is interesting on other forums I see merkurs are favored but here merkur is 37% vs Gillette 63% favorite

 

My first and only adjustable - a Slim. I find it a fairly nimble razor considering all the nuts and bolts on the inside. The Fatboy. Other than the obvious size difference does it shave the same?

 

I have read it does because of the more rounded head. I have both but only used the slim one time so I can't speak from experience

 

One of the reasons I like hanging out here is the respect for vintage razors.

 

Fatboy for me, I've got or have tried nearly all of them but the fatboy for me gives me the closest shave

 

Being that Gillette adjustables are the only adjustables I've used, I voted for the fatboy.

To me, the shave differences between the fatboy and slim are negligible even with the different shaped heads. It's more in the looks and proportions.

Interestingly, I don't think as highly of my super adjustable long handle.

 

Have Fat Boy and Executive, Slim and Super Adjustable. Ended up liking the fatter handle of the Fat Boy even though the handle is shorter.

 

Gillette micro. The teeny tiny razor

 

I like the Super Adjustable Short Handle to shave with. Own all but the Futur & Vision. There's just something about the grip on the Super Adjustables & I prefer a short handle.
