I recently moved into townhouse and it had a sorely neglected two feet by five feet garden. It was packed with weeds and I didn't feel right about taking over the garden due she was there before I was. She moved ........ It's all mine. I cleared out the weeds, salvaged the one good plant and planted two Hosta and mulched it.
My extent of gardening, ornamental or food, is planting tomato plants every season. And that's only because the tomatoes sold at the local grocery stores are bland and flavorless and I absolutely love tomatoes. I eat them like most people eat apples or pears, etc. First thing I did when I bought my house was offer up all of the plants around it, on Facebook back when I used Facebook. "You dig and remove, it's yours free." All of the plants were gone the same day. Looking back on it now, I wish I had kept the gardenia bushes but I'm also glad they are gone? lol The main flower bed that was at the front of my house under my living room window, got filled in with cement to build a front porch.
The gas dryer, of 18 years(Kenmore), has been making some God Awful screeching sounds, for the past 2 weeks. The wife wanted a new dryer, but I figured I would try to fix it. I tore it apart, and greased everything that could be greased. Three loads of laundry done, and it is still quiet as can be. The wife is happy, and I saved $800+ dollars. All it cost me was $5.00 for some high temperature bearing grease.
I smoked large Pork Roast, overnight. Then slow cooked them in the oven to finish them Finished mounting the bookshelves after repainting the dining room. It is to be our library now. Got 2 of the three big filled with books. Put physical library up as a catalog on the digital planner.
Manly things? Well, I used my chainsaw to dispose of a rather large tree that blew down in the last storm. It was an excuse to buy a new heavy duty chainsaw and grunt like an ape while I was cutting the tree into firewood. I used a little sissy battery-powered 12" chainsaw for the limbing work, just because it was easy to use 1-handed. It took all afternoon to cut that monster tree into firewood. Even though I had two chainsaws and a Swiss military surplus axe, it was quite a workout. The new chainsaw paid for itself in just one afternoon. Can't imagine doing that job without it. I gave away some of the wood and kept some for my own back patio fire pit. Like a good shaving experience, I didn't cut or nick myself at all! - Bax
Awesome! Stuff like that makes many grown men cry! I'll never forget the many times my Dad tried to set the clock on the VCR... That's how I learned all of my big boy words.
4 1/2 hours of Power Washing the house, driveway, sidewalk, and fence. 94 degree heat. Lots of fun, not. The wife complained she had a hard time finding shoes, while shopping with our daughter. Hmmm. Next time we should trade.
I would rather do what you did then run around in shoe stores! The most boring thing is to buy clothes and shoes. Especially shoes as I have size 12. Hard to find shoes that fits. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
I have a 12 also, with a high arch, and wide foot. Triple the issue. I feel sorry for my daughter. She just turned 15 yrs old, and has a size 10-10.5. That's on the verge of giving up, and looking at the mens shoe section. .
The tough part is finding a women’s 10.5. Many shoes are stocked only up to size 10 (which is my size). So if she needs the 10.5, she will almost never find it in a shoe store. Even on the internet, 10.5 is hard to get.
I took care of my family. Made sure they were all safe and happy and know they are loved unconditionally by Me...
