I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44Mag and a Blackhawk in .357Mag. I prefer shooting the .44 but, it's expensive! The .44 goes BOOM while the .357 is a loud CRACK!
Excellent choice! The most accurate .22 I’ve ever had was a Ruger MKII with a 5” heavy barrel. It fed any ammo I put into it, and was accurate with most. Unfortunately I traded it away when I lost a job in the early 90’s.
The Ruger MKII had better trigger than the MK IV I have now. My current model is also pretty picky on ammo vs my old one.
I have one of those too. I bought it around 1980, and did a lot of reloading for it, in High School then. I haven't shot it in a long while. Back then, any kid could walk into a gun shop, and buy a few pounds of gunpowder, some bullets, and primers. It was dirt cheap to shoot it, at around 10¢ or less, a round. But, you had better not try to buy any assembled pistol bullets, as a kid. Funny rules.
Yesterday, I went to the range and helped to repair & restore the target butts. These are big wooden frames filed with padding & covered with canvas. The paper target faces get attached to these. Of course the canvas & padding get worn & need to be replaced periodically. I used my sewing knowledge to plot out the most efficient way to cut the fabric (i.e. to get the maximum number of usable pieces from each segment.)
I'll have to do a manly thing TOMORROW, although I hope I can do this today-clear off my car from the snow.
This morning, I awoke to a freezing cold house, downstairs. It was 0430 hrs, and I had to hurry up and get breakfast, but I had time to investigate the 19 yr old furnace. I looked up the symptoms, online, and disassembled part of the furnace. I cleaned a sensor, and got it all running like new. The wife watched the last 5 minutes of me assembling it back together, and firing it up. Major brownie points, and saved a bit of money. Oh, I even made it to work, on time.
Yes….Russian capture. Mixmaster of parts, I actually have two of them. Had a Luger at one time but recently sold it. P-38’s are more reliable. JMO Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I went to the dentist today. Going to a dentist is a true test of a man’s ability to withstand pain. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I actually enjoy going to the dentist. I've been blessed with pretty good choppers, so my visits are only for cleanings once a quarter.
I shot in a big multi-state tournament today. Thanks to some equipment problems, my score was pitiful. So I just did the best I could, & had fun anyway.
I really did. And the guy next to me got a perfect score for the first time in his life. We were all really excited for him.
I have an subscription at the dentist, about 7 years ago my dentist asked if I was interested to have a subscription, YES I replied! It costs $100/ year and they check the status every 18 month. All kind of treatment is included except prosthesis ( I think it’s the name in English ). At my age often old “repairs” cracks, just call the dentist and they fix it “for free”.
