Today I worked on one of the steam locomotives of the museum for which I volunteer. Its boiler has its bi-annual examination. So it is largely dismantled. Which gives us the opportunity to get some work done. Replacing worn-out parts, cleaning and painting.
I took my in-laws to dinner then returned home to drink beer, chased by a shot or two of bourbon, and watch NFL football playoff games.
Yesterday I was the candy man. Every two weeks I put together a stock of trainers for our pooch. Somehow I got his full attention.
Trimmed trees Chopped some firewood for the smoker. I Am in the process of smoking 15 lbs Chicken Thighs, one 5lb Beer Butt Chicken, one 5 lb Spatchcock Chicken, and 24 hot dogs. We will be freezing a lot.
Finished the build of a bird feeding house in the back garden. Now let's find a way to permanently chase the neighbour's cat out of the garden...
Almost nonexistent round these parts. Perhaps in the woods, but that's a 20 km/12 mile drive away and most squirrels have no driving licence. If there were penguins nearby, I'd have some tasty sardines for them, but I haven't seen them as yet.
That's a lot of scope, for a.squirrel rifle. How far off are you having to shoot? Around here, we have so many, all you need is a sling shot. Sometimes you can walk within a couple of feet of them, before they decide to move. If ever there was a food chain collapse, squirrel would regularly be on the menu.
