I suffer from OCD too....take medication and have "talk" therapy to help. Both ARE helping. But I helped myself first-when I decided I needed the help, and wasn't going to win the battle myself.
Washed the car, fetched my daughter from daycare, got home and waited for wifie to return home from work so we could get dinner started, only to find out she was going out to dinner with colleagues. So what does a frowning penguin do? Make dinner for himself and the daughter, clean the kitchen, get daughter ready for bed and tuck her in with great tunes from my beak - all without chaos.... BOOM! How manly is that?!?
Finally finished the Plumbing ( I suck at Plumbing ) Now I am ready to have the Pad poured woooohoooo maybe I will get the new pump house done next week, I was shooting for Oct 1st but did I mention I suck at plumbing hehehehe
Watched my son run another cross country race this afternoon! He's the blond one! Also, sat and visited with some old friends who came to watch him run. Hadn't seen them in about about 10 years. Planned out the weekend assault on more trim and floor work on the house. Gotta love a nail gun!
My robot vacuum cleaner caught a power cord around one of its wheels. Not knowing how to get it out, I called Customer Service. (Now for the" manly" part of this story) While on hold, I figured out, for myself, how to remove the wheel, disentangle the cord and re-mount the wheel.
Changed two high ceiling lights with a (new) bulb changer stick thingy and didn't break any glass or my neck! Replaced the dead bulbs with dimable LEDs.
(imagining CMorris on hold for customer service): "There, I think I'm making progress. Now I.....Yes, hello".
getting closer to buttoning up for the winter here in the northwoods, still about 1 week behind my schedule Concrete pad poured today, starting the walls for the Well pumphouse as they dry The bolts were my idea I think they might work out They are 6 inches long and I have a washer at the backside also so I am hoping that they will be solid in the Concrete when it sets.. If it works as planned I can change out the frame boards pretty easy if the treated lumber ever rots out I great theory hehehe wonder if it will work ??? meet ya back here in 10 years
So much work into this Saturday - Building walls Monday - Setting Walls Today - Building the roof Still more work left but I am getting there steadily
I literally helped an old lady (80ish) cross a street in downtown Denver. She was standing on the curb next to the crosswalk looking scared. So, I simply asked her if she would like to take my arm. Looking relieved, we slowly crossed the street.
