It took me 30 shaves to get comfortable, 60 to get competent, 90 to get to auto bbs. Hang in there, you'll get it!
I don't know about manly. But I recently had to make the choice to Adult. I lost a co-worker in a motorcycle accident a month and ahalf ago and last week I almost lost my best friend in one. Fortunately he is going to be okay. Both were the fault of cars/trucks not paying attention and turning in front of them. With a wife and 2 kids, I can't justify the risk. Espesically with all of the distracted drivers nowadays. I have to sell my bike, as much as I love it. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to get a fast car.
An acquaintance of mine had his leg shattered when a deer ran out if front of his bike. He had several reconstructive surgeries, spent months in rehab, and on the day he was returning to work, a car pulled out in front of his bike, causing him multiple fractures and internal damage to the point he had to be air lifted to a hospital in Atlanta. Made me rethink any idea I ever had about buying one.
I have nothing against motorcycles, I've owned them and road them for around 35 years. I slowed down and just about stopped riding regularly about 10 years ago, when my last child was born. Not enough time, not worth the risk in the Houston area, and I saw too many fatal motorcycle accidents at work. Then two years ago, my younger brother died on one, two houses away from his home. No helmet. No reason why the bike went down. So, I gave my motorcycle away, and haven't been on one since.
To get back on the "What manly thing did you do today" thread, I took my 10 yr old daughter on the beach today, in Galveston. She collected seashells, and played in the water. Oh, and I wrestled a Salmon away from a Grizzly Bear. All before breakfast.
doing that would make me think of the movie The Great Escape, and the tunnels they developed(course they were smaller-not fit for trains).
