I WILL be doing a manly thing today-my workout at the gym. My two "manly" accomplishments so far were Aqua Velva for A.S. and black coffee at breakfast. (Both are listed by Brett MacKay in his "Manly Smells" list(Art of Shaving).
I cut down a neighbors 30 year old pear tree today, with a "Chainsaw". Get some!!!!!! Wooooooooo!!!!!!!
I cooked chili. In South East Central south Texas, any temperature under 55 degrees calls for chili .
I hired someone else to climb a ladder to clean out the eavestrough. In early May, I climbed the ladder myself, fell off, smashed my leg, had surgery to fix it with plates and screws, then spent the entire summer housebound with crutches. Learning from your mistakes is manly, isn't it?
Got into my bathtub, down on all fours to clean out some gunk that was stopping up the shower water. I hope I got enough-looks better than when I started, at least.
Worked on a console stereo for my son and daughter in-law for Christmas. Not done, but cut down a couple 3-way speakers to fit and getting ready to recover the speaker grills.
Will do before and afters. I was hoping to save the original speakers, but someone took some of them, so had to replace them. I may be able to use the original record player along with the console body. Though it was made in 1975 or 1976, it has an interesting Pennsylvanian dutch look to it; I suppose to celebrate the bicentennial.
