I realized a couple of years ago (while perusing antique stores) that I am "mid-century modern".

I suppose I am too. That is, unless we are talking about my knees, which are 30 years older than the rest of me. They are nearly antique.

"Mid Century Modern" - I like that. Here on a shaving forum, I'd classify myself as Post-War NDC.

What makes me feel old is realizing even my youngest child is middle-aged. [IMG]

Earlier, I wrote a post stating my confusion on the phrase As It Were". What does that mean, and why wasn't it As It Was"?

In this case, were is the subjunctive mood which is used to express doubt, supposition, or something contrary to fact. Was would be indicative mood.

"Hindsight is 20-20"...I suppose it's a popular phrase, but what does it MEAN?

  15. Sara-s

It means that hindsight is pointless in situations for which the phrase is used.

It means that it's impolite to stare at people with big backsides for more than 20 seconds.:scared001:

Only if you're behind them. If you're in front of them, then it's foresight.

I've noticed on the auction site, the word "vintage" being used as a style descriptor,
as though any cheap modern straight razor, was vintage.
