…and depending upon the brand and ingredients use, the scent varies widely. Some are 'spicier', others more 'citrusy' some more 'floral'… My homemade version of bay rum falls somewhere between 'spice' and 'citrus' whereas Pinuad Clubman BR is definitely 'spice' (clove).
Is there one brand that has the 'original' or most 'standard' version of Bay Rum so I can get a sense of how it all started?
Most BR are dominant spice and citric with some accentuating one or the other. I've read in several reviews where some consider these products 'classic' BR-style aftershaves in scent. WM Neumann BR and this... TaylorOBS BR
Lavender, Sandalwood, Aloe Vera - But unfortunately I believe I am allergic to Scented Soaps and Creams. . but for some reason AS seem to be fine. What is a good "Citrusy" BR?
I like citrus like bergamot and I really like cedarwood that is also my wife's favorite cologne scent as well
Um. I don't know. Really. I have Art of Shaving Sandalwood now which is STRONG but I will be ordering a sampler from the SD store next paycheck. May have to get a few recommendations as to which ones to try.
Today I came across a scented plugin called spice pear...it just might translate into a good shave soap scent. The other was a cologne called Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch...it smells pretty good.
Bamboo and sage is what I am looking for, the place I buy my soap at used to sell it and stopped. Very cool love the one about "the air right before an intense summer storm"
In addition to Old Spice, I'm also liking all the Adidas offerings too. Thankfully the wife is liking them as well.
Let me just quote myself to bring this thread back around from colognes to the original intent of the thread. I used to have that scent, but my supplier stopped selling the fragrance oil. I either need to make my own PC FO or find another supplier.
My favorite scent has to be the smell of pine and spruce needles in the heat of a summer day in the middle of the bush. Also the smell of fresh cut maple. Can you tell I worked in the bush for several years I can't forget cedar as well, always seems to be more enjoyable during a sunny warm day.
Vetiver Oud Wood Smoke Neroli Cedar As far as fragrances, I reach for Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Fresh Cannabis Santal, and (my favorite) Chanel Sycomore.
I'm really liking the Stetson Caliber offerings. I picked up a Christmas gift pack set for 50% off at Fred Meyer. Good stuff.
