Hmmm...... Bourbon vanilla witch hazel, that's starting to sound pretty good. I might just invest in some to try out ON my face. I wonder how she would go with aftershave that smells like bourbon soaked bread baked in a cedar oven????? THAT would be a "TriFecta" of smells
Sawdust. A humidor packed with cigars. Vanilla. How I smell after using a chainsaw all day, small engine exhaust/wood chips/sweat. Seasoned hickory wood burning in my smoker. Fresh cut grass. Gasoline. My girlfriend. Cinnamon. Roses. Honeysuckle. Marzen style beer. Citrus. Sulfur. Permanent markers. I could go in for days, but that's what comes to mind.
Yes indeed! Fresh-cut sawdust, in particular, smells great! Agree on the hickory, too. Just don't inhale it for a long time. you got me here. If you've ever had to trek through sulfur springs, then you would know what a walk through Hades smells like.
Cedar wood chips. In the spring, a freshly cut limb from a pine tree is very nice... Freshly ground coffee beans. (and brewed coffee of course) We have to keep our distance, but a Bradford Pear tree in full bloom is nothing short of mesmerizing! (but, along with the wonderful smell comes thousands of honey bees! )
She smells amazing. And I mean the way SHE smells. Not the perfumes and soaps and stuff, although I'm crazy about those. But the natural scent of a woman's skin. Maybe it's pheromones, but I just can't get enough. She smells sweet. Best smelling woman I've ever known.
Crackling Firewood! Around this time of year I begin to use TSD Crackling Firewood Soap very frequently!
Another scent really like is the smoke from a 2-stroke engine, a dirtbike or chainsaw. I love the way steaks smell outdoors when you get that first sear on them. I like the clean scent when you go in a doctors office or when spraying Clippercide on razors or clipper blades. The smell of a hotel when you hit the 2nd or 3rd floor and can smell the indoor pool. New car leather! The wood section in Lowes or Home Depot. Bourbon Vanilla Pipe Tabacco, when someone else is smoking it.
I like the following scents, not necessarily in combination. Bay rum - not heavily clove Lavender Cedar Grapefruit Myrrh Tabac (whatever is in that) Givenchy Pi (whatever is in that) Spice Bomb (whatever is in that) Pumpkin pie spice Apple cider Ginger
Me too! Pipe Tobacco love that, you should sample Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille smells just like it. the best!
My all time favorite scent is leather. Even as a kid I loved the smell of leather which included my baseball glove. As I've said in another thread, it might be because I just turned 40 but I have suddenly developed a love for Old Spice. Fortunately my wife likes it too and she doesn't like most of my aftershaves.
Bergamot either in earl grey tea or in Armani Aqua Di Gio. That and fresh basil. Really any smell from the garden is great but basil is my favorite.
I love the smell of the ocean on the coast of Maine. I spent 20 years in the Navy and of all the coasts around the world, I never found another that smelled the same. Gunsmoke, an added pleasure at the range. Florida Water, I don't know what is in it, but the combination is fantastic. Note to self: Order some TSD soap in FW. The smell of cool crisp sheets. As a teen, I used to stay with a friend at his grandparents place on your way to Sugarloaf to ski. Our beds were in the unheated attic. Loved the smell of those sheets. Balsam Fir. Being from Maine we always have one of those fragrant pillows of it around. Also the little log cabin with the Balsam insence.
That reminds me. The smell of Dove soap always reminds me of my grandparents house as a kid. I also love the smell of garden soil and dryer sheets.
One of these days I'm going to have to find and try some Bay Rum. It's one of these scents I can never quite 'get' just by reading about it...
