These Reg 80 M. Jungs are a best kept secret. Sometimes a NOS comes available and for less than the price of a good bottle of wine. Keep a look out on these 100 year old German imported razors by New York based distributor, M. Jung.

This one has seen films, stones, and 200k diamond. Near or same as shavette result this AM.

Yesterday’s and today’s shave were both done with the same gear, the only difference was testing light slurry vs clear water finishing with the jnat that I used to finish the edge. Thin slurry was good, but I felt that it might be better using some clear water finishing strokes, and I was right. Not every jnat will improve with clear water strokes, some don’t do anything and some can set the edge back. You can usually tell while honing as the razor will start to ‘stick’ to the stone after 15-20 clear water strokes.

Soap was MdC original in ‘brain bowl’ lathered with a M&F Alibaba Finest, and a splash of Myrsol AB finished off a BBS shave

Had a lovely shave with this Japanese blade .I was in a desperate need to have a straight shave .Was out of town for a week and was not willing to pay $150 to check a bag so I could take a few straights with me .So I was stuck with using a cartridge razor for the week . The straight shave brighten my day .I have this situation remedy for my next trip to the family farm .I have a US Vintage 6/8 in route to the farm for my next visit .

Thanks Mike. I have to give credit to the seller... stated shave ready, and it was indeed.

Shave #37 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero edge longevity test. It had been a dozen shaves since I used fabric, so after today’s shave I stropped 20 canvas/40 suede/80 cordovan. The edge is holding well. Cream was AdP lathered with a Rooney 22mm beehive, and a dab of AdP balm finished up a BBS shave.

Wonderful shave today, from one of my favorite brands. It is a Newly Acquired, Restored, and Honed razor. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Wonderful blade, but it has a wicked spiked tip, that requires a lot of concentration. I think this one might get a scale swap, if I can find a nice C-Mon donor. These scales are cheap plastic. C-Mon either put some of the most beautiful scales on their blades, or the most plain. But, the blades are always top notch.

Razor- C-Mon, Carl Monkhouse. Ellicottville NY.
Soap- More For You, from Turkey.
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple. Silvertip Badger
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Willy's Jeep decanter

The #49 t00k me to trips to the hones to get to shave ready last Spring, but ever since all that I've done is 200k diamond/balsa, linen, and horse hide. The result this morning was SAS or same as shavette.
