    Thanks Mike!
And very cool Petruccelli - love the tie to JMP. If I remember correctly, I might have been a competitor with you for that blade :).

Shave #44 with the Sub Cero edge longevity test. Still going well... Soap was 3P lathered with a lotus-handled Shavemac finest, and a dab of ABC apricot hull balm got me ready for a chilly morning.

Large to small, but not small in the shave department! St Joanis ‘Le Triomphe’, soap was the great-for-fall I Coloniali Mango Oil soap lathered with a M&F Alibaba Finest, perfect size and stiffness for getting into that small bowl and lathering that hard soap. A dab of the I Coloniali Rhubarb balm finished off a BDBS shave that smells great with autumn air and leaves.

My first pass with this or any Torrey. I give it an ‘A’. I just brought the edge back today, but it hadn’t gone far. 5/8 barber’s notch. Maybe my best shaving antique store find to date.

There was some Omega cream, some Cella, and a very old original knot boar in the mix.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Palmolive Shave Cream
    Jayaruh #41
    J.R.Torrey 5/8
    Gem Contour
    CVS CS SE
    CWR
    Aqua Velva Musk

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Palmolive Shave Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #41 Badger Brush. I did two passes with the J.R.Torrey 5/8 razor and a cleanup pass with the Gem Contour with CVS blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Shave #45 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero edge longevity test. It’s still shaving quite smoothly. Cream was SMN lathered with a 2-band Rooney-shaped brush, and the AS was SMN body cream. I really like the body cream as an AS, it’s thin for a body cream (it’s not a cream at all) but right for AS balm. It isn’t greasy or sticky, and the scent is true. It’s $10 more than the SMN alcohol-based lotion, but there’s 2-1/2 times as much. I’d recommend it if you’re a fan of SMN tobacco toscano.

Had a Fantastic shave with this Vintage Sheffield Blade .I finished this blade on a J-Nat than did several hundred Laps on the Surgical Black .The edge is outstanding . Love the J-Nat /Arkie combo .
The Blade with it weight and smile just destroyed the whiskers with almost no effort .
Love the balance and efficiency of this blade .
Just enjoy using a tool that is 170 years old that does an incredible job.

Wow! Gorgeous Damascus blade, Tom. Does it take a good edge? Sometimes they’re tough to get sharp.
