Had a wonderful shave with this modern Bismark .Love the balance and how this blade handles.I love the thumb notch and the embellished scales. Blade was just refreshed on my J-Nat .Shave was very smooth and close . rps20200215_004731_315.jpg

    Vintage Life's Morning TOST
    Oscar11 synthetic
    Wilbert "Acme"
    CWS
    PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm

The Vintage Life's Morning TOST Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Oscar11 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Wilbert "Acme" straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Geneva Cutlery this morning. I’ve heard good things about these and found one in decent shape on flea bay for $30. I stopped it about 59 times on linen and 100 on leather (Tony Miller Old no. 2) and gave it a test drive this morning. Not bad, but the edge needs some work. First pass went well, but more than a bit of tugging on the second pass. I’ll try to hone it up this weekend.

I’m on a quest to kill this tub of Declaration Grooming Trismegistus and it’s got a lovely “ring of death” now. I’m guessing less than 20 shaves left. I’m using it every other day, so I’m hoping by the end of March it will be gone.

    Happy Saturday, all!

7/8 (well, at least at one end, lol) Wostenholm IXL FBU-type. Soap was a springy fresh MdC agrumes which smells like citron, lathered with a Keyhole 3 in a Stirling bowl. AS was a very complimentary Myrsol Agua de Limon.

This Pipe has given some great shaves in the past. Today it was off - just couldn’t get as close as I’d like. Good shave but closer to a DFS than a BBS. :chores016:

    Hot water preparation
    Argan Oil PSO
    Savile Row 3824
    Frankensoap odds and ends
    Geo Wostenholm 5/8 Pipe
    Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

The razor is 5/8 solingen made. I cleaned it, but didn't sand it down. I wanted to keep the etchings. If someone recognizes the maker please let me now. The logo is soms kind of bird.

Looks like an ERN tang stamp to me. I’ll see if I can find a razor with it.

Not sure. A quick check shows the bird facing the other direction with wings spread, going after a snake.
    Still looking...

I have two ERN's and there is an eagle with a snake, but facing the other direction.

I'll look for the razor this afternoon.

Taking the new cat out for a spin, Le Jaguar No 707, soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a Keyhole 4, and ABC almond balm topped off a BBS shave.

Koraat 8/8 this morning and some Wholly Kaw Yuzu Rose Patchouli. Love this scent. Nice shave, but the more I use this razor the less I like it. It’s just so damn big and awkward to strop. The edge is great though!
