Tonight's shave was with a newly acquired, restored, and honed Sheffield England made razor. Wonderful, and loud, 2 pass shave, with BDBS results. Doesnt get any better than this. This Extra Hollow grind was singing the entire shave.

Razor- Wade & Butcher "Special". Sheffield England.
Brush- Custom B-400, by Tom(@twhite ). Omega Boar knot. Great feel to the brush(both handle and knot).
Soap- Wholly Kow "OUD". Great scent. Great lather.
    Aftershave- Florida Water

Heljstrand MK 68 this morning for me. I was in a bit of a rush and short changed the prep (45 seconds in the shower instead of 5-10 minutes, borderline lather instead of really dialing it in). Took my time with the shave (as one must). So either this edge needs a touch up or my lack of decent prep led to a rough, tuggy shave. Had to settle for “good enough” after 2 passes. Worst shave I’ve had in months, but such is life that these things happen.

At least one more shave in this puck of soap before it’s gone. It’s honestly held on longer than I expected... down to like a quarter sized dollop.

Wonderful shave with an old friend. This is the straight I learned on. What a difference between then and now. Somehow the razor got better. :happy102:

6/8 Green Lizard today. So much better than my shave yesterday! This thing is exceptional and has a wonderful edge from whoever owned it before me. I’ve also heard tell that these take a great edge from some really high grit stones. I may have to give that a shot one of these days.

Brand new SOC brush since I’ve been hearing so many good things about these. Obviously it’s not broken in and was entirely underwhelming today. Hopefully it gets better.

Been a while since I’ve seen a Green Lizard. Always thought that was a cool blade with the green scales - nice!

A tale of two razors. Both of these were refreshed in the same session with very different results.

Saga: Sharp enough I could finish a shave if I forced it but the thought of going ATG with the edge.... no reason to suffer so I pulled out a safety razor after the first pass.

Silverloaf: This razor is tricky for me to hone, she is a big girl, 8/8 with a smile and heavy grind. The edge was very nice and so was the shave.

:thanks: Yeah, that little detail is always amusing to me. Not sure what was going on with the photo that makes it look like a crease in the blade.

The Palmolive Shave Cream face-lathered well with the Semogue Owners Club brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Weck Sextoblade with Personna Super Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Gold Monkey, to test the stone that I was playing with last night. Soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a TOBS Super Badger, and a splash of Myrsol Limon finished up a good Saturday morning shave.

I got in a New York State of mind. :)
Big German blade “Pride of Bronx” made for Sal. B. Rossi of NY. Paired it with Taconic (NY Hudson Valley) and ended with a splash of Razorock New York... doubt this is what the subway smells like... thank goodness.

Totally forgot to post this morning...

Razor was a Friodur 472 honed by @speedster. This is one of my more important reference edges because he honed on the same set of synthetics I’ve got. I love Escher edges and good Jnat edges, but I do my honing through a Naniwa 12k, so it’s nice to be able to compare. (spoiler alert, I’m not on Mark’s level...yet).

Brush was a SOC that I’m in the process of breaking in. Soap was the very last of this tub of Declaration Grooming Trismegistus and the AS was Summer Break Soap’s Histiry 101, a nice leather base that lingers for a bit. End result was a lovely 3 pass BBS that left me feeling great.

Shave #84 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero, cream was SMN lathered with the hippie brush, and a dab of ABC balm finished things up.
