Riga Razor 7/8, the razor always impresses me. She takes a very sharp edge and holds it a long time. Just touched her up with Dove red-black pastes and the edge was a joy today.

Well I received my W&B FBU back this afternoon from @gssixgun and as promised I have shaved with it and reporting the shave. It was honed on Chosera 1,5,10 and finished on his Blue/Green Escher

    Razor: W&B FBU 15/16
    Soap: Calani Earl Gray
    Brush: Alpha T-400 synthetic knot
After shave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

As expected from a razor honed by @gssixgun It preformed flawless. Two pass and a smooth face. He can certainly hone a razor to perfection!

Took the recently shortened C.V. Heljestrand No.8 for a spin. Nothing to report... so I guess I didn’t mess it up. :)

The small difference I see is that honing on a stone produces a structured edge based on angles.

Not an expert, but since the substrate carrying abrasive pastes is usually less rigid if not flexible, it seems the bevel will have the capacity to convex somewhat.

I find it easier to develop a smooth shaver using pasted stops to finish. I am needing to possess more skill to find the same on a stone finish

It came up on ebay before christmas as a buy now for 55.99. Needless to say it didn't last long. It was in almost new condition. I will take some pics tonight and post them.

Shave #89 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero, cream was AoS Ocean Kelp lathered with a Keyhole 4, and AdP Revitalizing Face Serum provided the AS.

Finished up a 30DR earlier this month. Its been great to not be committed to the same single razor. Had some awesome shaves with these Japanese and Swedish razors since then.

Suzumasa Frameback I especially enjoy the smaller (short) blade on this one. Still learning the steel on the stones but seems typically hard... as if hoped it would be. Nice price on this one too!

Heljestrand MK 10 All I can say is WOW! This is an incredibly excellent razor.

Shusui “Handmade Yasuki” Only 1 shave under my belt so far but my impressions so far are very high. It’s a near wedge grind which I particularly enjoyed. Maybe my new favorite.

Towa Frameback Feels very much the same as Suzumasa shown above. Significantly longer blade one this one is a bit less handy on the face.

"Pink Thing" is back. The scales are starting to grow on me now. This razor just performs to perfection. Super sharp, and smooth 2 pass shave, that delivers great BBS results. Geneva Cutlery Corp makes fantastic razors. I think some of the best out there, for grind and the superior quality steel that is used.

Razor- Geneva Cutlery Corp. Geneva NY.
Brush- JR#262(@Jayaruh ), Birdseye Maple/Ebony wood. Silvertip Badger Knot.
    Soap- Holy Kaw "OUD"
    Aftershave- Hill Country "Arctic Blue"

A beautiful set up there for the shave. Love the brush, Jayaruh makes some beautiful brushes. And I love that Pink Razor, only real men can shave with Pink and tell about it! :p I would love to shave with a razor like that!

    Thank you!!!

they sure are nice but the tangs are very thin and tend to roll if you are not careful, but they do hold a fantastic edge and very nimble...

I have one that I don’t use for that same reason. A lot of old French razors have that tapered tang, and the Japanese Eiko 14.

A day late, but shave #90 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero. Soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a Keyhole 3, and ABC balm finished up another DFS.
