The ARKO Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #1 silvertip brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Classic Samurai razor with an Astra SP half-blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor - NY made Thistle yes it really is an American 7/8 and the Shapton 30k edge it can hold will flat slay a beard and you never know it touched your face

Cream - The Original “the body shop” Shave Cream this is from about 2007 before they ever made the first Maca Root version

Georgetown Scuttle - one of the pre 2010 versions

Snurdle Dipper - Original 1.0 version from 2008

Brush - re-knotted 2 band Pure Badger

A/S - Italian made Felix Balm

Strop - Buffalo

Cape 2000 with an edge from the new jnat - smooth as it gets. Cream, balm, and EdT are Acqua di Parma, brush is a Simpsons Keyhole 3.

 

Took last weekend’s project for its maiden voyage...

I think getting all that communicated is why it needed to be an inch wide.

Light cleaning of the blade, new shoes, and now sporting a Shapton 16k edge... it was a very enjoyable package.

13/16 Coral, Cream, AS, and EdT were Dior Eau Sauvage. Corals are some of the better made Japanese razors.

 

Wow, I did not even know a 7/8 American razor existed.

Tonight's shave

Tanifuji Ba'Ba 13/16 Japanese razor this is just a great razor. Constantly delivers superb shaves. It's part of the hell will freeze over before I let this razor go.

Beau Brummel strop. I used this tonight and if you haven't seen it look in the strop section I posted a bunch of pics in the early birthday gift. But the strop is absolutely amazing. I really cannot articulate how nice this strop truly is. Tony Miller makes the best modern strop and this is by far the best vintage strop.

I cannot remember who made this brush. It was a member here. Please forgive me for forgetting. Please speak up because I fully believe in giving credit where credit is due. I love the brush. I love the knot he put in it. The handle is really comfortable.

Razorock Dead Sea soap. Ok to myself and everyone in the house say this soap smells exactly like noxema. But it's a nice soap.

Captains Choice Venture aftershave balm. First time using a balm from Captains Choice and I have to say it's a great balm. I will be buying more of the balms from Captain.

Captains Choice lather bowl. Great bowl. But I need more to have variety. Just because I like variety

I have seen this model referenced from a 1936 catalog, so mid-30’s seems good. One of those razors that feels great... spine to hollow transition is smooth with a great heavy, dense feel. Love it!
